National Safeguarding Adults Week Events

The National Adult Safeguarding week starts on Monday 18 November and is an excellent opportunity to promote adult safeguarding and the work that a number of organisations are doing to protect residents across Cheshire East.

We are currently developing our programme of event for Safeguarding Adults Week and will be adding links and booking details closer to the event.

This year we a focusing on Self-Neglect and Domestic Abuse.

Calendar of Events 18 - 22 November 2024

Come and meet officers and partners of the Cheshire East Safeguarding Adults Board at Crewe Market Shopping Centre, Victoria Street, Crewe CW1 2NG on Monday 18 and Friday 22 November, and The Grosvenor Centre, Macclesfield SK10 1DY on Wednesday 20 November.

As part of the Board's commitment to adult safeguarding and community safety we would like to consult with local people to find out how safe people feel in their local community, and to ascertain tawareness of what adult safeguarding is, and how to report concerns about an adult in Cheshire East.

Visitors will have the opportunity to complete a survey and will be able to find out more about the work of Cheshire East Safeguarding Adults Board and partner agencies.

Domestic Abuse in Later Life.

Carrie Bower is the Domestic Lead at Age UK.

Many older victims don't recognise themselves as such, and national statistics are likely to underestimate the extent of the issue. The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 recognises the need for services to "avoid making assumptions about a victims condition or health based on Age."

This workshop will focus on how we can improve our recognition and response to Older Victims of Domestic Abuse in Cheshire East.
